"Friday Night Lights"
“Friday Night Lights” captures the nostalgia of the boys of fall. This photo was taken during the golden hour. The lighting highlights the textures of the football while creating a backlight against the bleachers to emphasize the model. To develop an emotional composition, the player rests the football on the bleachers and faces the field. This embodies the reminiscing scene of someone looking out at the field of the sport they loved. The composition placement of the Rule of Thirds creates the visual context of where the player is. The empty stadium bleachers further the idea of a football player reflecting on their career. Overall, the composition expresses the emotions of a reminiscing football player.
"We Need Bang"
“We Need Bang” is a playful take on the reality of the hardships that today’s soldiers experience. The clever take of 1910’s      “We Need You” poster emphasizes the needs of the soldiers. Rather than Uncle Sam calling for action for people to enlist, it is from the soldier’s perspective of needing caffeine to endure the challenges of war. The soldiers strategically create a war scene to protect the Bang, the energy drink they desperately need for war. The complementary colors of yellow and blue were selected as the background to contrast the green army men and the orange Bang. The studio lights create dramatic double-exposure shadows on the war scene. The composition as a whole demonstrates a dynamic scene with a youthful take on the hardships of war in the twenty-first century.
